Distinguished Guests
The Chairman of ESU Argentina, Malcolm Rodman
and his wife Cecilia, drove out to San Antonio
de Areco with our most distinguished guest, the
Chairman of ESU Oxford, UK , Geoffrey Goodall
and his wife, Marian. After a visiting the History
Museum and the well-known silversmith, Dragui,
in the town they made their way to Colegio San
Antonio where they were met by Irene Navarini,
the overall Head and Martin Garvie, a member of
the ESU Committee and Head of English Studies
at the school.
Following a tour of the school premises the group
were entertained to lunch at an Estancia nearby
belonging to one of the prominent members of the
school Board. After being 'regally entertained',
as Geoffrey put it, the Goodalls visited the Primary
School where the Head, Grace Vilar, had organised
visits to various class-rooms.
All, adults and children alike, enjoyed each other's
company immensely. The programme ended with tea
in the gardens of Irene Navarini's nearby country
house. But, alas, we must tear ourselves away,
the return to Buenos Aires must commence before
nightfall. The Goodalls will continue their stay
in Argentina with a visit to Iguazú followed
by a stay in Mar del Plata hosted by Holy Trinity
School.
